FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released the 2018 volleyball coach's poll on Tuesday morning and Salisbury University was selected to finish third earning 34 points.
Defending CAC champion Christopher Newport University was tabbed to repeat as champions earning six first-place votes to go along with 48 points. University of Mary Washington finished second in the poll earning 44 points while garnering two first-place votes.
Falling in behind the Sea Gulls were York College of Pennsylvania (29 points) and Southern Virginia University (26 points). Frostburg State University (19), Penn State Harrisburg (13), and St. Mary's College of Maryland (11) rounded out six through eight in the rankings.
Salisbury opens the season on Friday, August 31 when it travels to the west coast to take part in the Pacific Coast Classic. The Sea Gulls will face Chapman University at 6:30 pm eastern time in their first match of the season.
