INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its weekly regional rankings on Wednesday and has Salisbury climbing one spot to No. 10 in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Sea Gulls have won three straight matches against Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponents, including back-to-back sweeps against St. Mary's College of Maryland and Southern Virginia University to move to 16-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
Johns Hopkins leads the region for the second consecutive week with a perfect 25-0 record in 2019. Holding steady in the No. 2 spot is Susquehanna University at 27-5. Carnegie Mellon University (17-5), Juniata College (19-7) and CAC rival Christopher Newport University (22-7) also remain in place at third through five, respectively.
The Sea Gulls travel to Christopher Newport on Friday, November 1 to open a weekend quad-match against the Captains at 7 p.m. They will return on Saturday to face Virginia Wesleyan University at 10 a.m. and Averett University at 12 p.m.
