Dougherty receives AVCA All-Region honorable mention

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its all-region teams on Thursday and Salisbury senior Hailey Dougherty received a Division III East Region honorable mention.

Dougherty had an impressive senior season with the Sea Gulls, finishing first in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) with 601 total digs and 5.37 digs per set. Dougherty ranks 34th in the nation in digs and 63rd in digs per set. She also recorded double-digit digs in 28 of Salisbury's 29 games this season.

The libero has also received three weekly CAC Defensive Player of the Week awards, two Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Defensive Player of the Month awards. After the season, Dougherty was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Year and was selected on the All-CAC First-Team.

Dougherty finishes her career fourth all-time in Salisbury program history with 1,869 career digs.

Dougherty picks up Salisbury's 23rd AVCA All-Region award and the first since Katie Stouffer after the 2016 season.
