FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and Salisbury University sophomore Heather Delaplaine took home the Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors.
Delaplaine finished second overall in the women's 5K event with a time of 19:15.9 at the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University on Saturday. 146 runners competed in the event.
The sophomore's strong finish helped propel Salisbury to victory as the women's team finished first overall at the Hornet Harrier with 54 points. Seven other Sea Gulls finished in the top 25.
