Delaplaine wins CAC Runner of the Week for second straight week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Salisbury University sophomore Heather Delaplaine collected Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Runner of the Week honors for the second consecutive week on Monday.

Delaplaine finished second overall in a field of 154 runners in the women's 6K at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday. Delaplaine's time of 21:57.64 set a new season-best and helped propel Salisbury to a third-place finish as a team. She averaged a 5:43.4 mile at the race.

Delaplaine also earned CAC Runner of the Week accolades on Sept. 30.

The Salisbury men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Oct. 19 when they compete in the Hood Invitational at Utica District Park in Frederick, Md.
