Salisbury University

SGSN began with live webcasts of on-campus events, beginning with a men's and women's basketball doubleheader between the Sea Gulls and York (Pa.) College on January 15, 2011. During the first semester, 16 Salisbury varsity events were webcast. By the next academic year (2011-12), SGSN aired 106 game broadcasts.

Less than four months after its launch, SGSN aired its first NCAA Tournament games during the spring 2011 postseason. Salisbury played host to stages of the NCAA Division III tournaments in men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and softball. On May 22, SGSN covered the Sea Gull men's lacrosse team's 16-7 win over Roanoke in the national semifinals; SU would win the national championship in Baltimore one week later.

Two days after Salisbury University cut the ribbon on the brand-new Sea Gull Stadium, SGSN covered its first event from a new state-of-the-art press box, a 13-3 men's lacrosse victory over Frostburg State on April 9. The Sea Gull Stadium broadcast facilities are considered among the best throughout NCAA Division III.

After hosting the first two rounds of the 2019 NCAA Division III football tournament, Salisbury welcomed Muhlenberg to Sea Gull Stadium for the national quarterfinal on December 7. That day, SGSN experienced its largest audience in network history, drawing over 15,000 viewers.

During the spring 2021 semester, SGSN became many Salisbury fans' only outlet for witnessing Sea Gull athletics during the COVID-19 pandemic. The network's student employees provided live coverage for over 80 broadcasts of SU's fall, winter and spring sports in a condensed four-month season. Highlights included:

• Coverage of the inaugural Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) championships in baseball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and outdoor track & field
• The longest baseball game in Division III history (23 innings) between SU and Southern Virginia on May 7-8
• The NCAA Division III men's lacrosse national quarterfinals and semifinals on May 22-23

The Sea Gull Sports Network hit the road for the first time to cover Salisbury's run through the 2022 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. SGSN provided live audio streaming for all five of SU baseball's games in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, culminating with the Sea Gulls' second straight appearance in the NCAA Championship Series.

SGSN became ESPN+ for the duration of the 2024 NCAA Division III Football Championship, with the network's student crew providing game coverage of Salisbury's second, third, and quarterfinal round contests at Sea Gull Stadium for the cable network's official streaming platform.
