FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Salisbury University
volleyball took a four game Capital Athletic Conference match from
the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday night at Goolrick
Gymnasium.
Salisbury (15-9, 3-1 CAC) was led by sophomore Stacey
Krebs (16 kills, 12 digs) who recorded a double-double
while senior Abbey Petrecca recorded a game-high
40 assists.
The Sea Gulls dropped the first game 21-30 before it reeled off
three straight wins 30-28, 30-20, 30-21.
SU rallied in the second game down 17-11 to rally and take the
game 30-28 in a huge momentum swing for the Gulls. Sophomore
Jaime Marzocchi made four service points to end
the game.
Sophomore Lucy Rushing recorded nine kills and
five blocks while freshman Gabby Long made 17 digs
in the win.
UMW's Kelley Hueber had 13 kills and 14 digs in the loss for the
Eagles (11-7, 0-4 CAC).
Salisbury will next host Goucher College at 7 p.m., Tuesday,
October 10, at the Maggs Center.
