TOWSON, Md. - The Salisbury University women's
basketball team continued its winning ways Wednesday evening with a
76-62 victory over Goucher College on the road in Towson, Md.
The Sea Gulls (5-1, CAC 2-0) jumped out to an early 14-point
advantage in the first half but the Gophers (1-5, CAC 0-3) rallied
with a 21-11 run over the final 11 minutes of the half to cut the
Salisbury lead to 33-29 at intermission.
The second half was controlled by the Sea Gulls, who made their
presence felt inside. Salisbury out rebounded Goucher, 37-18, in
the second half and outscored the Gophers 28-12 inside the paint en
route to the 14-point win.
Salisbury was led by Kylie Hall who scored a
team-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds while
Jessica Mills added 12 points and six rebounds.
Francheska Guilfu and Shadae Swan scored double-figures for
Goucher as they tallied 16 and 14 points.
The Sea Gulls return to action on Friday, December 8, as they
host non-conference opponent Widener University at 6 p.m. at the
Maggs Center.
