Williams stays hot as Gulls drop third straight

ARLINGTON, Va. - Ray Williams continued to light up the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon as he scored a game-high 27 points but it wasn't enough as Salisbury University fell to Marymount University (Va.), 76-65, in Capital Athletic Conference men's basketball action at the Verizon Sports Arena.

The senior guard hit five three-pointers for the Sea Gulls while fellow senior backcourt teammate Segun Odumeru added 10 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Salisbury (9-7, 4-3 CAC) led for part of the first half but the Saints (7-8, 2-5 CAC) took their first lead at the midway point of the half and never looked back. Marymount held a 10-point lead, 36-26, at halftime.

The Sea Gulls pulled within two points, 48-46, midway through the second half but the Saints answered with a 13-0 run to build a commanding lead, 61-46, with six minutes remaining in the game.

Salisbury has lost its last three Capital Athletic Conference games and five of its last six games.
