Mills' double-double ends losing skid for Sea Gulls

GLASSBORO, N.J. - Senior Jessica Mills notched a double-double as she scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Salisbury University women's basketball team to a 10-point win over Rowan University, 66-56, Monday evening on the road. The Sea Gulls entered the contest with Rowan having lost five of their last six games, including two straight.

Salisbury (10-7) trailed 33-28 at halftime but scored the first 10 points of the second half to take a 38-33 lead with less then 17 minutes in the game. The Profs (8-9) tied the game at 42, six minutes later, but Salisbury quickly went on a 7-0 run and led 49-42.

Rowan made one final push to regain the lead from SU as the Profs pulled to within three, 59-56, with two and a half minutes to play. The Sea Gulls quickly squashed that run and iced the game by scoring the game's final seven points.

Senior Meghan Klug scored 10 points and added five rebounds while sophomore Marissa Manzo came off the bench to pull down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Rowan was led by Lauren Byrne who scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

This is the second year in a row the Sea Gulls have defeated the Profs.

The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, January 27, as they travel to York, Pa., to face Capital Athletic Conference opponent York (Pa.) College at 4 p.m.
