SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's basketball team had 12 shots blocked by The College of New
Jersey Monday evening, as the Gulls dropped their second game in a
row, 70-62, to the Lions at the Maggs Center.
The Sea Gulls were led by the tandem of Jessica
Mills and Meghan Phillips who scored 19
and 17 points each, respectively. Meghan Klug
contributed a team high seven rebounds and added nine points for
the Gulls.
TCNJ was too much for Salisbury inside as it outscored the Sea
Gulls 40-24 and pulled down 52 rebounds to SU's 38.
Salisbury has now lost its last four games against the Lions
with the last win coming in the 2001-02 season.
The Lions had five players reach double-figures, led by Breanne
Depken and Alexandra Gregorek who both tallied 12 points. Hillary
Klimowicz finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.
Salisbury will return to action on Wednesday, January 10 as they
host Capital Athletic Conference foe No. 18 University of Mary
Washington at 5:30 p.m. at the Maggs Center.
