Sea Gulls blocked out by Lions, 70-62

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball team had 12 shots blocked by The College of New Jersey Monday evening, as the Gulls dropped their second game in a row, 70-62, to the Lions at the Maggs Center.

The Sea Gulls were led by the tandem of Jessica Mills and Meghan Phillips who scored 19 and 17 points each, respectively. Meghan Klug contributed a team high seven rebounds and added nine points for the Gulls.

TCNJ was too much for Salisbury inside as it outscored the Sea Gulls 40-24 and pulled down 52 rebounds to SU's 38.

Salisbury has now lost its last four games against the Lions with the last win coming in the 2001-02 season.

The Lions had five players reach double-figures, led by Breanne Depken and Alexandra Gregorek who both tallied 12 points. Hillary Klimowicz finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.

Salisbury will return to action on Wednesday, January 10 as they host Capital Athletic Conference foe No. 18 University of Mary Washington at 5:30 p.m. at the Maggs Center.
