SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University women's
lacrosse junior Sue Ackermann has been added to
the 2007 Tewaaraton Trophy watch list. The annual award is to the
top male and female lacrosse player in the nation.
Ackermann is one of eight in-season additions to the list and is
the only Division III player on the entire list of 42
student-athletes.
The Sykesville, Md. native has guided the Sea Gulls to a 9-0
start and leads the team in all three major offensive categories as
she has totaled 52 points on 24 goals and 28 assists. For her
career she has scored 63 goals and added 39 assists.
The Tewaaraton watch list will be narrowed to five finalists and
the winner of the award will be honored at the 7th annual awards
dinner held at The University Club of Washington, D.C. on
Wednesday, May 30.
Ackermann is the second Salisbury player to be on the preseason
watch list as men's lacrosse senior Chase Caruso is one of three
Division III players on the men's list.
