ARLINGTON, Va. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team opened up their Capital Athletic Conference
schedule on Wednesday night with an intense 3-0 victory over
Marymount (Va.) University on the road. The Sea Gulls held off the
Saints to win 30-24, 30-28, 30-28.
Junior setter Jaime Marzocchi had 34 assists to
pace the Gulls in the win. Junior outside hitter Stacey
Krebs nailed home 15 kills and made nine digs. Sophomore
libero Gabby Long had a team-high 17 digs to go
along with her three service aces. Sophomore Rachel
Downes added 12 kills in the victory.
Salisbury (6-3, 1-0 CAC) will next participate in the Garnet
Classic this weekend at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. SU is
in Pool B and will face Stevens Institute of Technology and Cabrini
College on Saturday afternoon and will continue play on Sunday.
