SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team added another Capital Athletic Conference victory
to its record Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Hood College
before 125 at the Maggs Center.
The Sea Gulls (14-5, 3-0 CAC) swept the Blazers in straight sets
(30-17, 30-20, 30-17). SU junior Jaime Marzocchi
had 27 assists in the match along with five digs. Fellow junior
Stacey Krebs slammed down 15 kills, recorded 11
digs and served up two aces. Sophomore Rachel
Downes knocked down seven kills while fellow sophomore
Nicole Massarelli had six kills and two service
aces.
Hood (2-14, 0-4 CAC) led briefly in the first set and the
Blazers hung tough, early on, in the second and third sets. Blazer
senior Ashley Bryan contributed five kills, a service ace and five
digs against Salisbury.
The Sea Gulls will host their second Salisbury University
Invitational tomorrow (Friday) through Saturday at the Maggs
Center. SU will kick-off the tournament with a match with Messiah
College at 4 p.m. and another non-conference match at 8 p.m. vs.
Susquehanna University. The Sea Gulls won last weekend's SU
Invitational with a perfect 4-0 record.
