Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's basketball team closed out the 2008 Optimist Classic with a
63-35 loss against Lebanon Valley College on Saturday evening at
the Maggs Center.
The Sea Gulls (0-8) had a tough time shutting down Lebanon
Valley (6-1), who shot 51 percent from the field and 81 percent
(22-for-27) at the free-throw line.
Salisbury junior Kylie Hall was named to the
all-tournament team for her performance during the two-day classic.
Hall scored seven points, grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and a
team-high three assists against the Dutchmen. In the two
games, Hall scored 20 points and ripped down 21 rebounds for the
maroon and gold.
Freshman guard Glen Charlton led the Sea Gulls
offensively as she scored 10 points against LVC. Fellow
freshman Meghan Dunn scored eight points and had
seven rebounds while sophomore guard Chante
McKinney added five points and three rebounds. Freshman
Sherrita Hall led the team with two steals.
The Dutchmen were led by Lori Lidlow's game-high 19 points and
four rebounds. Forward Eryn Schultz added 14 in the win. Lebanon
Valley led 27-14 at the half.
In the first women's basketball game on Saturday, Widener
University defeated York (N.Y.) College 84-63. The rest of the
all-tournament team included Caitlin Murphy (LVC), Beth Dessart
Mager (Widener) and Justina Boatwright (York).
The Sea Gulls will host York (Pa.) College on Tuesday, December
9, at 6 p.m. in a Capital Athletic Conference game. This will be
Salisbury's last game for the month of December.
