Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's basketball team fell to Capital Athletic Conference foe
York (Pa.) College, 85-49, Tuesday night in the Maggs Center.
Salisbury (0-9, 0-2 CAC) was led by two double-digit scoring
performances from junior Kylie Hall (10 points,
five rebounds) and freshman Glen Charlton (10
points, five rebounds, five assists). The Gulls shot a season-high
50 percent from three-point range in the conference match up but
could not overcome the Spartan offense. Sophomore Chante
McKinney led the team with two steals and freshman
Katharine Curran (eight points) had one block.
York (8-1, 3-0 CAC) shot 53.1 percent from the field for the game
and was led by senior guard Keli Ward's double-double performance.
Ward shot 13-for-16 from the field as she scored 31 points,
grabbed 14 rebounds, recorded five assists and four steals. This
was Ward's 18th double-double of her career. The Spartans spread
the ball around the offense well as all 12 players recorded a made
shot. Guard Amanda Andrews added 12 points and four assists. The
Spartans led 43-16 at the half.
Salisbury will not play again until the New Year as the Sea Gulls
will travel to New York to take on Brockport State on January 3,
2009 in the New York University Classic.
