Box Score YORK, Pa. - Salisbury junior forward
Kylie Hall registered her third straight
double-double but it was not enough as the Salisbury
University women's basketball team dropped a 78-44 decision
Saturday to York (Pa.) College in a Capital Athletic Conference
game.
Hall tallied her fourth double-double of the season as she
scored 15 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds Freshmen
Katharine Curran (nine points, three rebounds) and
Glen Charlton (eight points, two rebounds) paced
the maroon and gold in the backcourt.
Salisbury (1-12, 1-3 CAC) took an early four-point lead as Sea
Gulls opened the game with back-to-back jumpers by junior forwards
Janay Johnson and Hall. The lead was the only one
the Sea Gulls would take on the day as York's April Sparkman (16
points, six rebounds) made a jumper with a little over five minutes
in and the Spartans never looked back. York (12-1, 5-0 CAC)
extended its lead to 28-17 with a 17-7 run midway through the first
half. Spartan guard Amanda Andrews (14 points) made a three-pointer
as time expired in the first as the Sea Gulls trailed 38-26 at
halftime.
The Spartans opened the second half with a 16-3 run in the first
seven minutes.
York had three players score double figures led by Kelli Ward
who made a game-high 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
The Spartans were 7-for-14 from three-point range as they swept the
regular-season series against the Sea Gulls.
SU narrowly lost the rebound margin as York grabbed 34 boards
while the Gulls recorded 32.
Salisbury continues its CAC road schedule on Wednesday, January
14, with a 6 p.m. game against Wesley College.
