SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team cruised to a three-set win Thursday night,
remaining perfect on the season in the Capital Athletic Conference,
dropping Hood College 25-5, 25-11, 25-14.
Salisbury (21-4, 6-0 CAC) jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first
set and never looked back, pushing its winning streak against CAC
opponents to 22 matches, dating back to late in the 2007 season.
Five players tied or set career highs Thursday night as every
Sea Gull saw action in the match, led by freshman outside hitter
Kristin
Jehle's (Bethesda, Md.) career-best nine kills.
Jehle's nine kills were the most of any player in the match as she
led the Sea Gulls to their best hitting day of the season, with a
team percentage of .370.
Sophomore setter Lindsey Saltzman
(Penfield, N.Y.) had a team-high 14 assists while
freshman Marissa Graydon (West
Friendship, Md.) added a dozen.
Junior outside hitters Kelly Williams
(Laurel, Md.) and Melissa Stansbury
(Eldersburg, Md.) each had six kills in the match.
Salisbury will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 20, when it
travels to Stevenson University. The match, which will be the Sea
Gulls' final regular-season CAC road match of the year, is
scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
