Box Score

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball team continued its road game streak as it traveled to Washington (Md.) College to face the Shorewomen, suffering a 71-62 loss. The defeat brings the Sea Gulls' overall record to 5-4, 2-0 Capital Athletic Conference. The game, originally scheduled to have been played on Dec. 19, was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The Sea Gulls, who trailed by as much as 11 in the second half, made a valiant effort in the concluding minutes of play as they whittled away Washington's lead to just one point with less than three minutes left in the game. The Shorewomen (5-5) were able to scoop up enough rebounds to keep the Sea Gulls at bay, preserving the win.

Salisbury was anchored by sophomore guard KC Curran (Malvern, Pa.) who netted 18 points in the Sea Gull effort, tying her season-best point total. Senior forward Kylie Hall (Baltimore, Md.) posted her seventh double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds before fouling out of the game.

The Sea Gulls now set their sights on conference play, as their next seven games will be played against CAC opponents. Salisbury will travel to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6 to face Gallaudet University at 6 p.m. The maroon and gold's first home contest of 2010 will be on Saturday, Jan. 9 against Marymount (Va.) University. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
