Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury
University men's basketball team faced off against Capital Athletic
Conference opponent Marymount (Va.) University on Saturday
afternoon, suffering a 73-68 loss at the hands of the Saints.
The Sea Gulls (5-7, 1-3 CAC) fell behind early, but quickly
regrouped and eventually took a 19-17 lead with 9:44 left to play
in the first half. The remainder of the half was spent rushing up
and down the court as both teams racked up buckets; the Saints
(8-6, 3-2 CAC) took a slim 3-point lead into the locker room at
halftime.
Salisbury gained momentum in the second half, but Marymount
answered back every Sea Gull basket with a basket of its own and
Salisbury was unable to catch up. Five Sea Gulls hit double-digit
point totals on the night: senior guards Greg Palmer
(Salisbury, Md.), Devin Jones
(Severn, Md.) and Drew
Dickson (Silver Spring, Md.), as well as junior center
Chris McGrew (Burtonsville, Md.) and
sophomore forward Mike Maczko
(Bel Air, Md.) each scored at least 10 points in the
Sea Gull effort. Jones led the team in scoring, netting 19 points
and pulling down three rebounds.
The maroon and gold's next contest will be at home, on Jan. 13,
against CAC foe York (Pa.) College. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
