ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University volleyball team wrapped up play in the Seahawk Invitational with a pair of straight-set victories on Saturday against Bridgewater (Va.) College and the University of the District of Columbia. Salisbury went 3-1 in the two-day invitational, hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) College; all three wins were 3-0 victories for the Sea Gulls.

The first set victory of Salisbury's (22-11) first match, against Bridgewater (15-16), came after a heated back-and-forth battle across the net. The Sea Gulls eventually prevailed, though, registering a 29-27 win. It was a bit easier for the maroon and gold to capture the second and third set victories, and with the win the team notched its 16th straight-set win of 2010. Sophomores Chelsea Glowacki and Jenna Shay led the squad to victory, posting 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Freshman Jacki Kaluzny registered a team-high four service-aces.

The Sea Gulls then made it a 2-0 day with a solid victory against the University of the District of Columbia (19-7); a resounding 25-15 first-set victory gave Salisbury the momentum it needed to finish out strong. Sophomore Carley Todd notched 16 set-assists and one service ace in the win. Junior Lindsay Saltzman contributed 14 assists, and Kaluzny added to the team's dig total of 56, chipping in 11 of her own.

Salisbury now focuses its attention on Capital Athletic Conference tournament play. The Sea Gulls, the third seed in the tournament, will host sixth-seed Stevenson University on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. for a first-round match-up.
