Sea Gulls look ahead to senior night, Haiti relief following loss at No. 8 Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Salisbury University women's basketball team found out why the No. 8 Marymount (Va.) University women have spent the entire year near the top of the Capital Athletic Conference standings. The Saints opened Monday's game on an 18-4 run and never look back, as the Sea Gulls dropped their seventh straight against Marymount, 76-36.

Salisbury (9-13, 6-8 CAC) struggled in many facets of its game against the Saints, with the 36 points scored being a season-low, and the Sea Gulls' 34 turnovers marking a season-high.

The Sea Gulls found themselves in trouble early, having five players with at least two personal fouls in the first half. Eighteen total fouls were called against Salisbury versus nine for the Saints (22-1, 13-1 CAC) in the game.

Sophomore guard Glen Charlton (Landover, Md.), who entered Monday averaging 14.5 points in the team's last four games, was the only Salisbury player to reach double-figures in scoring, finishing with 10 points. She also pulled down five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. Senior forward Kylie Hall (Baltimore, Md.) grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.

The Sea Gulls will play their final home game of the 2009-10 regular season on Wednesday when they host Wesley College. Prior to the game, the team will honor its two seniors: Hall and forward Janay Johnson (Baltimore, Md.). The team would also like to ask those that plan to attend the game to help in the recovery effort for the people of Haiti. There will be collection containers located inside Maggs Physical Activities Center for donations and supplies for those in need, still recovering from the earthquake that struck the island on Jan. 12.
