Box Score 2 SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team opened up play on Saturday morning, the second and
final day of the SU Invitational, with a 3-0 victory against
Gallaudet University. The win advanced Salisbury to the
championship game of the invitational, against Eastern University,
but the Sea Gulls fell to the Eagles by a score of 3-0.

Kaluzny led the Sea Gull offense in the game against
Gallaudet, each registering seven kills; additionally, Kaluzny
notched a team-high eight digs. Sophomore Kristin
Jehle added to Salisbury's defensive numbers, posting
seven digs and one block assist. The win marked Salisbury's eighth
straight-set victory so far this season. Todd earned a spot on the
All-Tournament team for her excellent play.
Salisbury (9-4, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference) then set its
sights on Eastern (14-0), which handed it a 3-1 loss on Friday
evening, in the championship match. The Sea Gulls' valiant effort
was not quite enough for an undefeated Eagle squad, who won the
match 3-0. Sophomore Kelly
Vieira stood out in the Sea Gull effort against
Eastern, notching a team-high 10 kills. Defensively, her nine digs,
solo block and two block assists came at crucial times in the
match for the maroon and gold. Sophomore Chelsea
Glowacki, who had a highly successful day on the
court, also posted 10 kills in the match. She was named to the
All-Tournament team for her efforts.
The maroon and gold will be on the road for their next two
contests, both in Frostburg, Md., on Sept. 25. Salisbury will first
face off against CAC opponent Frostburg State at 11 a.m. before
playing Penn State-Behrend at 1 p.m.
