Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team dropped a heartbreaking 3-1 decision to Capital
Athletic Conference opponent University of Mary Washington on
Tuesday evening.
The Eagles (13-5, 3-0 CAC) got the first game victory, 25-17, in
a highly competitive match which lasted nearly two
hours. Salisbury (10-6, 1-2 CAC) answered back in the second
game with a 25-21 win to knot the match up at one apiece entering
the pivotal third game. The Eagles would go on to win that set,
28-26, but it certainly was not without a fight from the maroon and
gold. A 25-16 fourth game victory gave the Eagles the match.
Sophomore Carley
Todd led the Gulls in the effort, notching eight kills
and a team-high 14 assists. Classmate Chelsea
Glowacki chipped in eight kills of her own.
Freshman Jacki
Kaluzny also impressed on the court, registering a
team-high 22 digs; it tied her career-best effort. Sophomore
Kelly
Vieira wasn't far behind, posting 16 digs. Junior
Lindsey
Saltzman provided her teammates with 13 assists.
The Sea Gulls have just two days to regroup for their next
match, a contest at home against CAC opponent Marymount (Va.)
University, on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
