SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team took the court on Saturday afternoon, the program's annual "Alumni Day", to square off against Capital Athletic Conference foe York (Pa.) College. The contest was tightly contested in the first half, but Salisbury could not seem to find its rhythm in the second half and fell to York by a score of 75-56.

Both teams played similarly at the start of the first half, keeping the score relatively close. York jumped out early to take a small lead, but Salisbury (5-10, 3-4 CAC) battled back and took its first lead of the day less than four minutes into the contest. The Sea Gull offense kicked into high gear at that point, while the Salisbury defense rendered the Spartans (7-8, 4-3 CAC) scoreless for nearly six minutes. Back-and-forth play ensued following the scoreless bout, but York managed to connect on several attempts to take a 34-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.

That three-point lead lasted only one minute in the second half, as a pair of free throws from sophomore forward Nicole Sisco and a jumper by senior guard Chante' McKinney gave the Sea Gulls their first and only lead of the second stanza. The Spartans slowly began to pull away as the half progressed to earn the victory.

Salisbury was led by Sisco, who registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Junior guard Milan Dry was the team's other double-digit scorer, knocking down 11 points in the Sea Gull effort.

The Sea Gulls will hit the road for their next contest, a CAC match-up against St. Mary's (Md.) College, on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m.
