Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team fell to Lebanon Valley College 74-46 on Monday afternoon in the first game of 2011 for the maroon and gold.
The Sea Gulls (4-7) tallied their first bucket of the contest at the 17:57 mark off a lay-up from junior guard Milan Dry, but SU had already surrendered four points to the Dutchmen (11-1). Lebanon Valley would outscore Salisbury 40-16 to close out the first half.
The second half was played at an even pace, as each team would tally 30 points in the frame.
SU got a team-high 14 points from junior guard KC Curran, as she finished with four made three-point shots. Senior guard Chante' McKinney poured in 12 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out a team-high four assists.
Lauren Ruhl led Lebanon Valley with a game-high 18 points, while Andrea Hoover chipped in with 17 points.
The Sea Gulls will return to Capital Athletic Conference play this Wednesday when they are set to travel to the University of Mary Washington with a 2 p.m. start time.
