Box Score DOVER, Del. – The Salisbury University volleyball team defeated Wesley College, 3-0 (25-14, 25, 15, 25-16), on the road at Wentworth Gymnasium Tuesday.
The win for Salisbury (20-3, 6-0 Capital Athletic Conference) gives the Sea Gulls their ninth consecutive 20-win season and 12th in Head Coach Margie Knight's 15 seasons. Wesley (1-16, 0-4) fell for the 13th straight match.
Junior Kelly Vieira and sophomore Julie Poston led the SU attack with five kills apiece while junior Hillary Metheny chipped in with four.
Junior Chelsea Glowacki and sophomore Tam Weems paced the Gulls' block, each posting five block assists.
Sophomore Jess Tallant tallied six assists and four service aces and classmate Sam Seifert had nine assists and three digs.
The Sea Gulls host the SU Tournament at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center starting Saturday. Salisbury will face Franklin & Marshall College at 3 p.m., followed by the State University of New York at Oneonta at 5 p.m. The tournament concludes Sunday with the Gulls playing Richard Stockton College at 9:30 a.m., and an opponent to be determined at 11:30 a.m.
