ARLINGTON, Va. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team used a 17-4 run over the final 9:28 of the first half and cruised to a 65-45 Capital Athletic Conference win over Marymount (Va.) University on Tuesday.

Freshman Anna Hackett scored a game-high 18 points on 8-for-8 shooting and added seven rebounds and seven assists to lead SU (4-3, 2-0 CAC) to its second straight victory.

The Sea Gulls shot a season-best 52 percent from the floor (26-of-50) in the win.

Hackett hit a jumper with 10:32 remaining in the first half, igniting a 9-0 Sea Gulls' run that classmate Lexi Kebetz punctuated with the final five points, to give Salisbury a 24-15 edge with 4:48 left.

Hackett closed the period with its final four points, including a jumper at the buzzer as SU held a 32-19 advantage heading into the break.

Senior KC Curran hit a three-pointer at the 15:22 mark to grow the lead to 43-21 and Marymount (3-5, 1-2) was not able to shrink the lead to less than 17 the rest of the game.

Senior Milan Dry was the only other Salisbury player to reach double figures with 10 points. Curran tallied six points and six assists while junior Cinthia Ruiz had nine points.

Katelyn Fischer paced the Saints with 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Salisbury grabbed more rebounds (38-33) than Marymount but had more turnovers (17-12) than the Saints, who made 20-of-64 field goals (31.3 percent).

SU hosts Stevenson University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
