Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The ninth-ranked Salisbury University softball team defeated Frostburg State University Saturday, in five innings of play, by a score of 8-0 to advance to Sunday's championship game of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
Salisbury (30-4) took the lead in the first inning, scoring three runs, and never looked back continuing to score four runs in the third and a walk off home run in the fifth inning to end the game.
Sophomore Hannah Mills went 2-for-2 at the plate as she homered in the first inning to bring two runs across the plate, was walked in the third inning, and ended the game early in the fifth inning as she drilled her eighth home run of the year, second of the game, over the center field fence.
Junior pitcher Erika Brittingham tossed another no-hitter, going all five innings as she collected her 20th win of the season. The Georgetown, Del., native struck out seven Frostburg State (15-16) batters and walked one.
The Sea Gulls will play in the CAC tournament championship game on Sunday, April 17, beginning at noon.
