WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 11th-ranked Salisbury University softball team wrapped up its regular season in a big way on Sunday afternoon, notching its 19th and 20th shutouts of the year with a pair of victories over Catholic University of America.

The first game of the doubleheader, a 5-0 decision, started off with a big first inning for the maroon and gold. Senior Taylor Webb's bases-loaded triple with two outs brought sophomores Hannah Mills, Lindsay McCabe and Sarah Alpaugh across the plate, giving Webb three of the team-high four RBI she earned on the day. A pair of runs in the sixth inning sealed the deal for Salisbury (33-4).

Webb led her Sea Gulls in the effort, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a triple. Junior pitcher Erika Brittingham earned the win for Salisbury, registering another no-hitter as she struck out 16.

The second game, a 4-0 victory for the Sea Gulls, also came with a three-run burst – this time in the third inning – as a double by McCabe scored Alpaugh and a two-run homer by Mills on the following play gave Salisbury its first scores of the contest. A run in the fourth inning, made possible by a groundout by McCabe, brought Alpaugh across the plate once again to bring the game to its eventual final score.

Seven Sea Gulls combined for nine hits in the second-game victory. The wins against Catholic (20-15) improve Salisbury's win streak to 24 games; 12 of those last 13 victories have been shutout decisions.
