Box Score 2 SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University volleyball team notched two more wins on Saturday as it took on Haverford College before going to battle with Swarthmore College. After the wins, Salisbury now boasts a season record of 11-1.
The Sea Gulls took the first match with Haverford in four games by the scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-20 and 27-25. Six Gulls registered more than five kills while both setters had at least 20 assists in the match.
Junior opposite Jenna Shay led the team with 11 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Sam Seifert and junior middle hitter Chelsea Glowacki were close behind with 10 and nine kills, respectively.
Junior setter Carley Todd had a big day with seven kills, 20 assists and a team-leading 14 digs while senior setter Lindsey Saltzman led the team with 24 assists.
In the second match, Salisbury swept Swarthmore in three games by the scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-15. Swarthmore matched the Gulls evenly through the first two games, but Salisbury took control early in the third. After starting the game on a 17-5 tear, the Sea Gulls won the final game with little difficulty.
Glowacki took over the match with 14 kills and 12 digs. The next closest Gull in kills was junior middle hitter Kelly Vieira with seven. Freshman libero Michelle Meehan led the team with 15 digs and Todd led the Gulls with 18 assists.
Salisbury will next be in action as it travels to Stevenson University on Wednesday. The match is set for 7 p.m.
