SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 1 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team won the Capital Athletic Conference regular-season championship and clinched a first-round bye in the CAC tournament with Wednesday night's 16-4 victory over conference-foe St. Mary's College of Maryland.

Senior attackman Kyle Quist led the Gulls and tied a career high with four goals and five points in the game. Midfielder Sam Bradman and attackman Erik Krum, both seniors, added three tallies, and Bradman chipped in an assist to finish with four points. During the run, the Sea Gulls won 7-of-8 faceoffs and were successful on all four clear attempts.

Mendes and Bradman both finished the first quarter with two scores each as the Gulls took a 4-1 lead into the second quarter.

At the half, Salisbury was outshooting the Seahawks 24-12. The Gulls also won 12-of-14 faceoffs and converted 9-of-9 clear attempts.

The Sea Gulls added four more goals in the third quarter, including two off of the stick of Quist, to take a 14-3 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Gulls added two more goals in the fourth.

Dehm, Eric Simon, Patrick Mull and Matt Tarrant all had a goal for the Seahawks.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Taylor picked up his 16th victory of the season with 45 minutes in the cage and three saves.

Salisbury will be in action again on Saturday as Washington College comes to Sea Gull Stadium for the Sea Gulls' final regular-season home game. The contest is set for 1 p.m. As the regular-season CAC champions, the Gulls will receive a first-round bye in the CAC tournament and will play on Wednesday in a CAC semifinal game against an opponent yet to be determined.
