ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's and women's swimming teams took to the road on Saturday to finish their regular seasons against Capital Athletic Conference rival St. Mary's of Maryland. The men's team was able to secure a 116-89 victory, while the women's team fell, 129-76.

Men

Andrew Ward led the way for the men's team, earning individual first- and second-place finishes. Ward finished ahead of the pack in the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 22.90 seconds. He later followed it up with a time of 59.27 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke – good for second place.

Bill James also had a strong afternoon, collecting two second-place finishes. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, James earned a time of 10:50.39. He then followed with a time of 5:13.39 in the 500-yard freestyle.

Jake Ryan earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, with a time of 1:49.76.

Conor Johnston finished first in the 100-yard individual medley, with a time of 57.92 seconds.

Richard Baker collected a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 48.33 seconds.

Women

Emma Tarnosky and Jordyn Rowe led the way for the women's team, with each swimmer collecting both a first- and second-place finish.

Tarnosky finished second in the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 27.19 seconds. She then followed it up with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 1:02.52.

Rowe finished second in the 100-yard individual medley, with a time of 1:07.74, before finishing in first place in the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 1:00.03.

Angela Barzanti earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, with a time of 2:11.63.

Ali Johnston finished in second place in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:16.33.

The teams will take some time off as they prepare for the CAC Championships, which are set to begin on Thursday, February 22 at St. Mary's.
