SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 5 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team rolled to a 15-8 victory over Washington (Md.) College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Julie Talbert led the Sea Gulls (4-1) with four goals on the day, including the first two goals of the game. After Washington (1-2) got on the board, Salisbury scored three straight from three different players to take a 5-1 lead 10 minutes in.

The Shorewomen cut the deficit to three, but Gabby Mongno tallied her first of two goals in the game, while Emma Skoglund notched two straight to put the Sea Gulls ahead 8-2.

Taylor Poore, who finished the afternoon with a hat trick, scored on a free position shot to give Salisbury a 9-3 lead heading into halftime.

Talbert opened and closed the scoring in the second half, both on assists from Alexis Strobel, who racked up three assists to go along with one goal.

The two teams traded goals for much of the second half, as Salisbury outscored the Shorewomen 6-5 in the frame. Washington was able to trim the lead to five at 11-6, but goals from Poore and Lindsey Wagner pushed the lead back to seven before Talbert finished off the seven-goal victory.

Anna Wehland and Kendall Bannan each caused three turnovers, while Wehland scooped up a team-high five groundballs.

Skye Graham earned the win in net, making four saves in just over 40 minutes of action. Jasmin Hall came on in relief to make three saves in just 11:31 of playing time.

Salisbury continues its three-game homestand on Tuesday, March 12 against Meredith College. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
