Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va.- The fifth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team took down Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) rival No. 16 Mary Washington on the road, 13-7, to push its season-opening win streak to five games.

A pair of free-position goals by Erin Scannell gave Salisbury the early 2-0 lead.

Mary Washington answered Scannell's goals with a Katie Blair goal to cut the lead in half, 2-1.

Salisbury went on another two-goal run with goals from Lauren Valenti and Scannell's third goal of the day off an assist from Anna Robinson to stretch the lead to 4-1 in the first 10 minutes of the game.
- The two teams traded goals throughout the rest of the first half. Nine minutes after a Rebecca Pullen goal trimmed the SU lead down to 4-2, Scannell added her fourth goal of the game off an assist by Alexis Strobel to extend the lead back to three. Mary Washington answered back with a goal 37 seconds later from Blair. Right before the halftime horn, Scannell scored her fifth of the game off a spin move just outside the crease to put Salisbury back up three, 6-3.

Mary Washington scored the opening goal of the second half off a free-position by Blair but Salisbury responded with back-to-back goals from Strobel and Camryn Pepper with 18:03 remaining in the game.

Erin Steinberg broke up the Sea Gull run with 16:05 left on the clock to make the score 8-5. Salisbury countered with the game-sealing three-goal run to extend the lead to 11-5 with tallies from Lydia McNulty, Scannell, and Valenti.

Sarazin ended the SU run with a goal with just over six and a half minutes left in regulation.

Within two minutes of each other, Mary Washington and Salisbury traded goals. During the back-and-forth, Valenti completed her hat trick off a Strobel assist.

McNulty ended the game's scoring off a free-position with 24 seconds remaining to secure the 13-7 win over the No. 16 Eagles.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES

Erin Scannell led the team with a career-high six goals off of nine shots, besting her previous mark of five set in the 2021 opener against Shenandoah. She also corraled a pair of draw controls.

Lauren Valenti earned her first career hat trick and multi-goal game.

Lydia McNulty led the SU defensive effort with three caused turnovers. She also added a pair of goals, two ground balls and an assist.
