Box Score 2 MARSHALL, Texas – Salisbury University sophomore pitcher Savannah Sheats made history as SU softball split two games on Saturday to begin the NCAA Division III Softball Regionals in Marshall, Texas. Salisbury dropped the opener, 9-0, to the Birmingham-Southern Panthers before overpowering the Eastern Nazarene Lions, 10-0, in five innings in the elimination game.

HOW IT HAPPENED – EASTERN NAZARENE
- Salisbury scored in every inning en route to the run-rule over Eastern Nazarene.
- Kaleigh Edwards got the scoring going in the first inning with an RBI double to right to score Abby Mace.
- Madi Lemon and Maddison Lednum smacked solo home runs to left field in the second and third innings respectively to push Salisbury advantage to 3-0.
- The Sea Gulls batted around and plated six runs in the fourth inning. The inning was highlighted by a three-run bomb by Edwards and a two-run blast by Natalie Paoli.
- Madeira Alexander scored Kat Nashold on an RBI single to extend Salisbury's lead to 10-0 in the fifth inning.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES VS. EASTERN NAZARENE
- Savannah Sheats spun a gem to record Salisbury's 14th perfect game in program history. It is Salisbury's first perfect game since Annah Brittingham blanked Southern Virginia on April 2, 2016. Only five of the 15 batters Sheats faced got the ball out of the infield.
- Natalie Paoli and Madi Lemon went perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 and 2-for-2 with each hitting a home run.
- Kaleigh Edwards went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four runs batted in.
- Maddison Lednum went 2-for-3 with a solo home run.
- Madeira Alexander tallied two hits in the victory.
