Swimming Sweeps St. Mary's on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's and women's swimming teams honored its seniors and opened 2022 with a sweep over the St. Mary's Seahawks on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Christopher Knorr and Matthew Arter both led the way for the Sea Gulls with three first-place finishes each. Knorr finished first in the 200-meter free, 100-meter free and 200-meter fly. Arter finished first in the 800-meter free, 100-meter IM and 200-meter back.

 

Jordan DeGruchy led the way for Salisbury women with two first-place finishes. DeGruchy finished first in the 100-meter fly and 200-meter fly. Kara Graybill also had a strong meet with a first-place finish and a pair of second-place finishes. Graybill earned a gold in the 400-meter free and second in the 50-meter and 100-meter frees.

Arter: 800-meter free (9:14.93), 200-meter back (2:17.99), 200-meter IM (2:22.32).

Knorr: 200-meter free (2:02.14*), 100-meter fly (1:00.86*), 200-meter fly (2:18.70).
