Men’s Basketball drops high-scoring affair at Rowan, 106-92

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Salisbury University men's basketball fell to the Rowan Profs on the road Saturday night in a faced-paced, high-scoring contest, 106-92.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rowan used a 7-0 run to gain an early lead, 12-4, just three minutes into the match.
  • The Profs offense continued to stay hot, and they jumped out to a 21-10 lead with 15 minutes left in the half.
  • Greg Bloodsworth knocked down a triple to spark a 12-3 to bring the Sea Gulls within two, 24-22, at the 11:09 mark.
  • Both teams traded baskets over the next few minutes. With 7:46 on the clock Brandon Craig made a tough layup to pull the Sea Gulls within one, 30-29.
  • Rowan responded with a quick 10-2 run to extend its lead out to 40-31 with just under four minutes to play in the half.
  • Two technical fouls and a shooting foul led Bloodsworth to sink four free throws to bring Salisbury back within two, 46-44, with 42 seconds left.
  • The Profs made some free throws in the final seconds of the half to send the teams in to halftime with a score of 50-44.
  • Rowan started the second half on a 10-2 run to extend its lead out to 60-46 at the 16:21 mark.
  • Salisbury battled back to within six after Kaiden Mines drilled a three-pointer to make it 64-58 with 12:40 left.
  • Rowan's offense exploded over the next few minutes and the Profs had its largest lead of the day, 86-63, with eight minutes to play.
  • The Sea Gulls didn't back down and battled back to within 12, 99-97, with just over two minutes to play.
  • Both teams added a few more baskets in the closing minutes of the game to give it a final score of 106-92.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
  • Salisbury shot 46.8 percent (36-for-77) from the field, including 38.1 percent (8-for-21) from beyond the arc.
  • Greg Bloodsworth led the Sea Gulls with 26 points on 9-for-18 shooting, including 3-for-7 from deep.
  • Kaiden Mines came off the bench and scored a season-high 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting.
  • Brandon Craig scored 14 points on 7-for-12 shooting. He also grabbed four rebound and blocked the ball three times.
  • Jordan Oates scored 13 points and hauled in eight rebounds.
  • Cameron Heard grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, dished out six assists and scored six points.
  • Brendan Davis added seven points and a team-high seven assists.
ROWAN GAME NOTES
  • Rowan shot 50.8 percent (33-for-65) from the field, including 42.3 percent (11-for-26) from deep and 76 percent (29-for-38) at the charity stripe.
  • Andrew Seager scored a game-high 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists.
  • Ja'Zere Noel scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
  • Four other Profs reached double-digit points.
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury will travel to Reading, Pa. for the Albright Tournament hosted by Albright College from Dec. 29-30.
  • The Sea Gulls first game is on Thursday, Dec. 29 against Hamilton. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
