Box Score 2 SALISBURY, Md. – Make it 10 in a row for the ninth-ranked Salisbury University softball team as the Sea Gulls completed the four-game series sweep on Sunday over the ninth-ranked Rochester Yellowjackets. Salisbury began the day with a 4-1 victory over Rochester before shutting out Rochester in the series finale, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Rochester opened the doubleheader with a run in the first inning. Hannah Keiper hit a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Bailey Nicholoff from third base.
- Salisbury responded in the bottom half of the first with three runs to overtake Rochester. After a leadoff walk, Abby Mace came around to score from first on a double down the left-field line by Jillian Dawson. Two batters later, Carrie Jacoby plated Dawson on an RBI single to left. Maddison Lednum brought in Natalie Paoli on a sacrifice fly to center to put Salisbury up, 3-1.
- Lednum and Lauren Meyers provided an extra run of insurance for Lindsey Windsor in the bottom of the sixth. Meyers doubled with one out in the inning before Lednum poked a single to right field to score Meyers from second base to extend the SU lead to 4-1.
- The three-run cushion was more than enough for Windsor as she rolled through the final six innings after she gave up the run in the first inning. She closed out the fourth win of the year with back-to-back strikeouts in the seventh.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Salisbury got the scoring going early with a run in the first inning. Natalie Paoli capitalized on another leadoff walk to Mace as she belted a double off the center-field fence to put a run on the board.
- Mace showed off why she was walked throughout the game as she launched a two-run home run in the second inning to extend the lead to 3-0.
- The second game proved to be a pitchers' duel as well as Savannah Sheats gave fits to the Rochester hitters. Sheats did not allow an extra-base hit and a Yellowjacket never reached third base in the nightcap.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES – GAME 2
- Abby Mace homered in her lone official at-bat of the second game. She scored twice and drove in two runs.
- Lauren Meyers tallied two doubles to push her season total to nine in 10 games.
- Savannah Sheats (W, 4-0) earned her fourth win of the season. Sheats scattered four hits and struck out three with a walk for her first shutout of the year.
UP NEXT
- Salisbury heads south to compete in the three-day National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga.
- The tournament opens on Friday with the Sea Gulls taking on sixth-ranked Eastern Conn. St. and No. 17 Berry starting at 3:30 p.m.
