Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – Junior pitcher Lindsey Windsor needed only 65 pitches to give the fourth-ranked Salisbury University softball team a one-game lead in the NCAA Super Regionals with a 1-0 victory over the Mount St. Joseph Lions on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury got the lone run of the game in the bottom of the second inning. Meghan Reed laced a one-out double to the left-center field gap. A batter later, Lauren Meyers hit an opposite-field double to right plate Reed to give SU the 1-0 lead.
- MSJ threatened in the top of the third. Emily McDonald hit a one-out single to right that got past the SU right fielder and all the way to the wall to allow McDonald to advance to third. Back-to-back plays at third by Maddison Lednum kept the Lions off the board in the third.
- After allowing the hit in the third, Lindsey Windsor retired 14 straight batters to claim the pitcher's duel and the victory.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
- Salisbury tied a season-low with four hits.
- Lindsey Windsor, Maddison Lednum, Meghan Reed and Lauren Meyers each tallied a hit with Reed and Meyers collecting the only extra-base hits of the contest.
- Windsor faced two over the minimum in a complete-game, two-hit shutout. She struck out four and did not allow a walk.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPH GAME NOTES
- Kamryn McCool was saddled with the loss despite only allowing four hits and a run. She struck out two and walked two.
- Emily McDonald and Casey Kemp recorded the hits for MSJ.
UP NEXT
- Salisbury and Mount St. Joseph will conclude the best-of-three series tomorrow with the opening game slated for 1 p.m.
- If MSJ wins the opening game, Game 3 will begin at 3:30 p.m.
- The winner will advance to the NCAA Division III Softball Championships in Salem, Va.
