IMLCA announces All-American, All-Region awards

SALISBURY, Md. – The Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) announced its All-American and All-Region award winners with the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team represented on both teams.

Graduate attacker Cross Ferrara and senior midfielder Jarrett Bromwell were named to the IMLCA All-American Second Team. Ferrara, Bromwell and junior defender Zack Timmons earned IMLCA All-Region First Team honors. Sophomore midfielder Jack Dowd and graduate midfielder Jackson Woodward landed on the All-Region Second Team while sophomore long-stick midfielder John DeFazio notched IMLCA Honorable Mention laurels.

Ferrara also earned the Player of the Year award from the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) and Eastern College Athletic Conference as well as the Lt. Col. Turnbull Outstanding Attackman of the Year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) in the postseason. He led the Sea Gulls attack with career-highs in points and goals with 119 points and 91 goals with 28 assists during the 2022 season. Ferrara became Salisbury's career leader in goals on April 27 at Catholic, passing Jason Coffman's record of 249, and ended the season with 274 career goals. His 274 career goals are 10 behind the career goals leader in NCAA Division III men's lacrosse history.

A crucial part of the midfield for Salisbury, Bromwell finished the season second on the team with 58 goals and third with 87 points. Bromwell led the team with seven man-up goals and added 29 assists. Bromwell is currently 10th in scoring in SU program history with 165 career goals.

Timmons as well as DeFazio and Woodward were key in the Salisbury defense in 2022 that only allowed 8.65 points per game. Timmons scooped up 42 ground balls and caused 28 turnovers. DeFazio led the team in caused turnovers with 35 and scooped up 91 rollers to place second on the squad. Woodward broke out in the defensive midfield for Salisbury. He finished the season with 16 caused turnovers and 37 ground balls.

Dowd, who played big roles in the offense and the midfield for Salisbury, finished the season with 64 points on 30 goals and 34 assists.

Salisbury finished the 2022 season with a 20-2 overall record and its second-straight C2C Championship.
