Gude, Women’s Swim sinks McDaniel, 78-42

WESTMINSTER, Md. – After a 47-day layoff between races, the Salisbury University women's swimming team dominated the McDaniel Green Terror, 78-42, to continue to build on its season-opening win streak to seven straight meets.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • The Sea Gulls recorded 12 first-place efforts in the victory, including 10 individual golds and wins in the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard free relays.
  • Leah Gude led the Sea Gulls with a pair of first-place finishes in the 200-yard free and the 400-yard IM. Gude finished the races with times of 2:12.79 and 5:00.37 in the 200 free and 400 IM respectively.
  • Lily Golden and Anna Jayjack each turned in a first-place and second-place finish. Golden finished first in the 50-yard free (26.87) and second in the 200-yard back (2:25.24). Jayjack earned a first in the 100-yard free (57.61) and second in the 100-yard fly (1:04.84).
  • Six racers earned wins in individual events while four others placed in the victory.

  • The Sea Gulls will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Catholic Cardinals in the final road dual meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
