SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Salisbury University cross country teams secured a pair of bronze medals at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Championships, hosted by UC-Santa Cruz on Saturday morning and Baylands Regional Park.

The Sea Gull men finished with 64 points, narrowly finishing behind second-place Christopher Newport (58) on the podium. Hosts Santa Cruz won the men's team championship with 17 points, while Mary Washington (109) and Pratt (155) rounded out the field.

The Sea Gull women snagged 75 team points to take third place. UCSC took gold with 15 points, followed by CNU (61), Salisbury, Pratt (125), and Mary Washington (126).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men
- Austen Cave earned First-Team All-C2C recognition by finishing seventh in a personal-best time of 25:21.8.
- Matt Grossi became an all-conference honoree for the second time in his career, taking eighth place in 25:27.4 to join Cave on the All-C2C First Team.
- Sam Bodmer earned Second-Team All-C2C laurels for the second straight year, crossing 14th in 26:01.7.
- Connor Kinch (26:34.9) and Ryan Cascone (26:36.1) finished 24th and 25th, respectively, while Garrett Saboy (26:42.1) crossed close behind in 27th.
- Declan Burke (27:54.1) earned a 34th-place finish, while Tristan Dutton (28:49.2) took 36th.
Women
- Anna Bodmer became the only non-Santa Cruz runner to earn First-Team All-C2C honors, finishing eighth in 22:51.0 to deny the Banana Slugs a clean sweep of the top eight.
- Rachel Roberts (23:31.3) and Madi Sisson (23:43.0) secured top-20 finishes by taking 19th and 20th, respectively.
- Alyssa Santoro (23:52.7) crossed in 24th place, followed soon after by Leah Snyder (24:11.2) in 27th.
- Peri Nelson (25:06.4) took 32nd, followed by Maddie Rathmann (25:39.0) in 36th and Erin Connelly (25:50.1) in 37th.

- Select Sea Gulls will participate in the 2023 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 11.
- Races from the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa. begin at 11 a.m.
