Community Youth Day, Special Olympics Auction planned for Saturday Football game

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University athletic department announced on Wednesday that the Sea Gull football team will host Community Youth Day, as well as a silent auction benefiting Special Olympics Maryland Lower Shore, during the Saturday, Oct. 7 game against William Paterson at 1 p.m.

Any youth athlete wearing their team uniform will receive a free ticket to the game. There will also be a pregame youth runout through the football team's official tunnel onto the field. Any youths interested in participating should line up at the flag poles by the north endzone of Sea Gull Stadium no later than 12:40 p.m. Parents should remain in the area by the flagpoles to meet their kids after the tunnel run is completed.

In addition, the football team has partnered with Special Olympics Maryland Lower Shore for a silent auction during the game. Volunteers from the organization will auction off various prizes, including rounds of golf, gift cards, sports memorabilia, and more to benefit the organization, which provides year-round sports training and competitions to individuals with differing intellectual and developmental abilities. The auction will take place at tables just outside the main gates of Sea Gull Stadium.

Free tickets will also be provided for any Special Olympics athletes and an accompanying guest.

New ticket prices for the 2023-24 athletic year are $10 for general admission; $7 for non-SU students, SU alumni, veterans, and seniors aged 65-plus; and $5 for children ages 5-12. Children under five and SU students, faculty, and staff (with valid ID) can get in for free.

Sea Gull Stadium gates and the in-person ticket window will open an hour before kickoff. Fans are also encouraged to purchase their tickets online.

Suite rental at Sea Gull Stadium is available for the William Paterson game and the rest of the season at $400 per suite per contest. For more information, contact Associate Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Jess Stoltz at jrstoltz@salisbury.edu.
