White Out, postgame fireworks planned for Friday Football finale with NCAA implications

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University athletic department announced on Wednesday that the Sea Gull football team will host a White Out and postgame fireworks during its Friday, Nov. 10 Senior Night game against Kean at 7 p.m.

The festivities will begin with a student SGA kick-off party beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the gated grass field by the Wayne Street Parking Garage, with gates to Sea Gull Stadium opening at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game, and the first 500 students through the gates will receive a free, limited-edition white out t-shirt.

Before the game, Salisbury football will honor its 16 graduating senior members: Casey Counts, Joey Bildstein, A.J. Butler, Gabe Williams, David Fletcher, Josh Barker, Gabriel Mendez, Charles Barley, Hunter Hruz, Anthony Behrmann, Brock Keeler, Jake Bendorf, Ryan Muller, Connor Shephard, Collin Holmes, and Marquise Spriggs.

Halftime will feature a performance from the Parkside High School Marching Rams, who this past weekend won the US Bands Group 3A National Championship at a competition in Allentown, Pa. After the game, fans are encouraged to stick around for a fireworks show.

The game will serve as Salisbury's regular season finale, during which the Sea Gulls will have a chance of winning a share of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) football championship and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. SU would clinch a share of the NJAC crown with a win and a Christopher Newport loss to TCNJ on Friday night.

The path to an NCAA Tournament bid would only come with those two outcomes, plus a Rowan win over William Paterson, which would set up a five-way tie for first place and trigger first-half point differential in head-to-head matchups between the tied teams as the tiebreaker. The Sea Gulls would win the NJAC's automatic bid in a five-way tie only if TCNJ leads CNU by between six and 33 points at halftime of that game.

Tickets for the Salisbury-Kean game can be purchased online, as well as in-person at the Sea Gull Stadium ticket window an hour before kickoff. Ticket prices for the 2023-24 athletic year are: $10 for general admission; $7 for non-SU students, SU alumni, veterans, and seniors aged 65-plus; and $5 for children 5-12. Children under age 5 and SU students, faculty, and staff with a valid GullCard are free at the gate.

Suite rental at Sea Gull Stadium is available for the Kean game at $400 per suite. For more information, contact Associate Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Jess Stoltz at jrstoltz@salisbury.edu.
