Men’s Basketball rolls Washington (Md.) for fourth straight victory, 75-53

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team continued its unblemished month of December, toppling the Shoremen of Washington (Md.) by a 75-53 score to move to 4-0 in the month on Wednesday afternoon at Maggs Physical Activities Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Salisbury began the game in impressive fashion, claiming a 12-4 advantage across the opening five minutes. Reed Rebstock led the Sea Gulls in that span, tallying seven points at a 3-of-3 shooting clip.
  • The Eastern Shore foes traded baskets before SU uncorked 10 straight, boasting a 24-10 lead with just over eight minutes remaining in the first half. The Shoremen tightened the gap with a 15-6 run spanning three and a half minutes, slicing the Salisbury lead to five at 30-25.
  • Aidan Camper produced a pair of three-pointers to headline an 11-2 stretch for the maroon and gold to close the half, leading 41-27 at the break.
  • The sides split the first eight points of the second period before SU pieced together its second 10-0 run of the night, taking a commanding 55-31 lead with just under 13 minutes remaining.
  • Washington answered the challenge with nine consecutive points, reining in the margin to 15, but the Sea Gulls responded with their own 9-0 swing to lead 64-40 with 5:27 left on the clock.
  • Salisbury kept the Shoremen at arms-length over the final minutes, stacking 11 points against Washington's 13 to lock down the team's fourth straight victory, 75-53.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
  • Reed Rebstock led the Sea Gulls in both points (14) and assists (5, a season-high) while adding four rebounds. Rebstock shot an efficient 6-of-8 from the field and converted both attempts from beyond the arc.
  • Aidan Camper was a sharpshooter from range, tallying a career-high 11 points and connecting on three of his four chances from distance.
  • Jordan Oates continued to absorb the ball off the glass, collecting 17 rebounds in the win. Oates has nabbed 56 boards across his last three games, averaging 18.67 rebounds in that span. He also tallied eight points, three assists, and a pair of steals.
  • Cameron Heard finished his night with nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
  • The Sea Gulls shot 54.0 percent (27-of-50) from the floor, 43.8 percent (7-of-16) from beyond the arc, and 73.7 percent (14-of-19) from the free-throw line.
WASHINGTON (MD.) GAME NOTES
  • Paul Rodolf led all scorers in the affair with 16 points, adding three rebounds and three steals.
  • Zack Skrocki totaled nine points, three rebounds, and a pair of steals.
  • The Shoremen shot 34.5 percent from the floor, 21.9 percent from three-point range, and made eight of twelve from the stripe.

  • After enjoying a short break for the holidays, the Sea Gulls return to action on Friday, December 29 for a road duel with the Bridgewater College Eagles.
