Women's Basketball upended by Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team fell to the Marymount University Saints 75-43 on Saturday afternoon at Converse Family Fieldhouse.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Marymount set the tone of the contest early, starting on an 11-0 run. Hailey Ader put the Sea Gulls on the board with just under six minutes left in the opening quarter.
  • The second quarter saw Salisbury use success at the charity stripe to bolster the offense, with Sym Deloatch and Tori Rumbaugh going a combined 6-of-8 at the free throw line. Nicole Miller and Ader additionally supported the Sea Gull offense.
  • Coming out of the halftime break, the Sea Gulls found consistency on the floor, going 6-of-11 from the floor. To close out the quarter, Salisbury went on a 9-5 run.
  • The Sea Gulls and the Saints traded shots throughout the final quarter to close out the contest.
 
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
  • Hailey Ader scored a team-high 11 points, going 4-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-5 at the free-throw line.
  • Sym Deloatch added four points while recording five rebounds and three blocks.
  • From beyond the arc the Sea Gulls shot 4-of-12 while going 11-of-17 at the charity stripe.
 
MARYMOUNT GAME NOTES
  • Chandler Eddleton scored a game-high 19 points, knocking down 9-of-14 shots while adding eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
  • Symantha Shackelford finished with 13 points, hitting three three-pointers while also recording four rebounds and an assist.
  • Marymount went 28-of-62 from the floor, going 7-of-16 from three, and 12-of-17 at the free-throw line.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls return home on Wednesday, Dec. 20 as they host Stevenson.
  • The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Maggs Physical Activities Center.
