Men’s Tennis falls to No. 11 Johns Hopkins in season opener

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team dropped its season opener, 9-0, to the 11th-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The third doubles tandem of Gavin Reagle and Aron Bursztyn held an early lead over Jonathan Zhang and Marco Azar but the Hopkins team was able to force a tiebreaker and took the match 8-7(7-5).
  • Russell Willenborg battled in third singles with Joe DeMarco but fell 6-2, 7-5.
  • Reagle forced a tiebreaker in the first set of his sixth singles match and took George Jiang to the limit but stumbled in the match, 7-6(7-4), 7-5.
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury will have a full weekend slate, starting on Friday, Feb. 24 against Goucher.
  • The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
