Women's Tennis cruises past Catholic, 9-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 sweep of the Catholic Cardinals on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Salisbury rolled to a 3-0 start in doubles. The teams of Elizabeth Christine and Sarah Cooper, and Evelyn Whiteside and Hannah Carter throttled their respective doubles matches in the second and third slots with an 8-2 and 8-1 score.
  • Katherine Tamesis and Olivia Hall battled in first doubles with Brooke Simonson and Abbey Cassidy but scored three straight points to seal the doubles sweeps, 8-4.
  • In singles, Leah Osmon, Christine, Cooper, Hall and Carter all dominated in their respective matches.
  • Tamesis was challenged in first singles by Simonson. The two top singles players traded sets before Tamesis outlasted Simonson in the super tiebreaker to take the match 6-3, 1-6, 10-5.
 
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury will take on Gettysburg and Hood in a tri-match on Saturday, March 4.
  • The day begins with the Sea Gulls taking on the Bullets at 11 a.m. before wrapping up with the Blazers at 3 p.m.
