No. 1 Softball overwhelms Washington College in twin bill

SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 1 team in the land proved its might with a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday. The Salisbury University softball team plated 17 runs in a 17-1 victory in Game 1 over the Washington College Shorewomen. Salisbury closed out Washington with a 6-2 win in Game 2.

Lauren Meyers and Jacoby hit back-to-back RBI singles followed by two SU runners scoring on back-to-back errors pushed the lead to 12-0 in the second inning.
  • Five more runs came across to score in the third inning. Two bases-loaded walks sandwiched an RBI groundout by Ellen Tarjan followed by Madi Lemon scoring on a throwing error and a Rachel Keller sacrifice fly extended Salisbury's lead to 17-0.
